January 2017 Currency Exchange Rates

In January the monthly average value of the U.S. dollar depreciated against all three major currencies we track. The greenback retreated by 1.1% against Canada’s “loonie,” 0.7% against the euro and 0.8% against the yen. On a trade-weighted index basis, the dollar was unchanged against a basket of 26 currencies.
