In
September the monthly average value of the U.S. dollar depreciated against two
of the three major currencies we track: 0.8% against the euro and 2.3% against
the yen. The greenback gained 0.9% relative to Canada’s loonie. On a
trade-weighted index basis, the dollar strengthened by 0.8% against a basket of
26 currencies.
