In
September the monthly average value of the U.S. dollar (USD) depreciated against
two of the three major currencies we track: Canada’s “loonie” (-2.6%) and euro
(-0.8%); the USD appreciated against the yen (+0.9%), however. On a
trade-weighted index basis, the USD weakened by 1.0% against a basket of 26
currencies.
