In
October the monthly average value of the U.S. dollar (USD) appreciated against all
three of the major currencies we track: Canada’s “loonie” (+2.6%), euro (+1.2%)
and yen (+1.9%). On a trade-weighted index basis, the USD strengthened by 1.7% against
a basket of 26 currencies.
