In
June the monthly average value of the U.S. dollar lost ground against two of the
three major currencies we track. The greenback depreciated by 0.4% against Canada’s
“loonie” and 3.2% against the yen, but gained 0.7% against the euro. On a
trade-weighted index basis, the dollar strengthened by 0.3% against a basket of
26 currencies.
