In
April the monthly average value of the U.S. dollar appreciated against one of
the three major currencies we track (+0.4% against Canada’s “loonie”) but depreciated
against the other two (euro: -0.2%; yen: -2.5%). On a trade-weighted index
basis, the dollar weakened by 0.7% against a basket of 26 currencies.
