In
May the monthly average value of the U.S. dollar appreciated against two of the
three major currencies we track: +1.3% against Canada’s “loonie” and 2.1%
against the yen; it depreciated, however, against the euro (-2.9%). On a
trade-weighted index basis, the dollar weakened by 0.3% against a basket of 26
currencies.
