Overall
construction spending
in the United States nudged lower (-0.1%) during February (+0.2% expected),
to a seasonally adjusted and annualized rate (SAAR) of $967.2 billion. Private
construction spending rose 0.2%. Outlays on residential projects shrank by 0.2%
while non-residential expanded by 0.5%. Spending on public construction
projects decreased 0.8%.
