In
May the monthly average value of the U.S. dollar gained ground against two of the
three major currencies we track. The greenback appreciated by 0.9% against Canada’s
“loonie” and 0.2% against the euro, but lost 0.8% against the yen. On a
trade-weighted index basis, the dollar strengthened by 1.0% against a basket of
26 currencies.
