In
October the monthly average value of the U.S. dollar gained ground against all three
major currencies we track. The greenback appreciated by 1.0% against Canada’s
“loonie,” 1.8% against the euro, and 2.0% against the yen. On a trade-weighted
index basis, the dollar strengthened by 0.9% against a basket of 26 currencies.
